About
Julia has been a filmmaker for over ten years and a writer for as long ask she can remember. Originally from New York, she graduated New York Film Academy’s conservatory program, where she then taught for several years, and is now based in Austin, Texas.
She has led filmmaking workshops at Beijing Film Academy and La Fémis, Paris. Over the past ten years, she has worked in the camera department on many film, commercial and documentary sets, and spent time as a camera and lens technician.
Her most recent short film, Jeff, will have its simultaneous premiere at the Miami International Film Festival and the Beverly Hills Film Festival in April 2025 and the feature version of the short is in development.
